This week’s action

FOSTER GROUP HOME

If not YOU, then WHO?

This little spitfire is Annie.  She’s 18 and chose to stay in the foster system for another year to focus on her studies and work at a local radio station.   She wasn’t the B-Day girl, but we will be celebrating her next month when she graduates high school!!!

Do you wish you could help children in foster care but don’t know where to start?

Do you wish you could give support to foster families but don’t know how to connect?

There are over 400,000 children in the U.S. foster system, and the number of foster homes drastically decreases each month which means more kids in group homes.

There are 1,000 ways you can make a difference in the life of a child in the system.   I’m blessed to have found my sweet spot of service, connecting with group homes and foster community centers.  There are foster children in your city, and they are looking to be celebrated,  mentored, tutored, and loved on.

You can become a CASA, a court appointed special advocate.

Another great way is to Google foster organizations in your area. Go volunteer and ask other volunteers where else the volunteer and how to get connected with a group home in your area.

Group homes are not for profit so of course they don’t advertise and it can be harder to find them but once you connect they will be so grateful for any support you want to give. They are always in need of helpers, mentors, tutors. If you are willing to share your passion for art, cooking, hair, gardening, fixing cars or anything else they will have a spot for you to share your skills.

 If not you then who?

 To all my AZ peeps
